U.S. Senator (New Jersey)
We asked Senator Cory Booker to share with us the website, speech or other content that best reflects his views on Israel. The Booker campaign shared the following statement:
Israel is America’s closest strategic partner in the world’s most unstable region–a dependable ally that shares our values and the vision of a Middle East with peace and security for all. Amidst a changing geopolitical landscape, our relationship has strengthened since Israel’s independence over seven decades ago. As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I have actively sought robust levels of security assistance for Israel. From new energy sources to innovative technologies, Israel has much to offer the wider Middle East and the globe and I firmly believe America can play a constructive role in facilitating new partnerships. As president, I will work to expand American-Israeli cooperation across an array of fields and build on our mutually-beneficial goals of enhanced security and prosperity in the region.
My administration will demonstrate a unified front in the United States’ support for Israel. We will be unshakeable in our affirmation of Israel’s right to exist and always support its right to defend itself against terrorism and those that seek its destruction. Human rights must be a central tenet of our foreign policy and that means upholding the human rights of both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. I believe the surest way to achieve this outcome is a two-state solution in which both Israelis and Palestinians can find justice and self-determination. As President of the United States, I will be committed to building upon the longstanding bipartisan support for a two-state solution to the conflict so that both Palestinians and Israelis can live side by side in peace with dignity and security.
