STATEMENT FROM DMFI PRESIDENT AND CEO MARK MELLMAN ON THE OVERWHELMING BIPARTISAN VOTE IN SUPPORT OF HOUSE RESOLUTION 246, OPPOSING THE GLOBAL BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT AND SANCTIONS MOVEMENT TARGETING ISRAEL
WASHINGTON, DC (July 24, 2019) – “This 398-17 vote is a stunning show of bipartisan opposition to the Global BDS Movement. Those of us who want peace need to encourage constructive engagement and a negotiated solution, instead of boycotts. BDS is particularly harmful because it does the opposite, pulling Israelis and Palestinians apart, making it more difficult to achieve a two-state solution. We congratulate the resolution’s co-authors, Representatives Brad Schneider, Jerry Nadler, Lee Zeldin, Ann Wagner as well as Chairman Eliot Engel and House Democratic Leaders for guiding this resolution to passage.”
