After a gunman killed eight people in Georgia in an act of senseless violence targeting the AAPI community, Democratic Majority for Israel president and CEO Mark Mellman, and Board co-chairs Ann Lewis and Todd Richman made the following statement:

“We are devastated to learn about the latest acts of unconscionable violence against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Georgia. For too long the AAPI community has experienced discrimination, violence and harassment that has now reached historically high levels. We stand in solidarity with them today and every day.

“We send our condolences to the victims and their families and vow to fight this hatred and bigotry. May their memories be a blessing.”
