Joel Wanger is the Chief Political Officer at Democratic Majority for Israel (DMFI), where he serves as the principal architect of the organization’s political strategy across its full portfolio — including DMFI’s 501(c)(4) and DMFI PAC. He oversees all aspects of the organization’s electoral engagement, from directing multi-million-dollar independent expenditure campaigns to managing relationships with Democratic Party leadership, elected officials, and allied pro-Israel constituencies nationwide. Under his leadership, DMFI won over 80% of its races in the 2024 election cycle and successfully defeated multiple efforts to move Democratic Party platforms in an anti-Israel direction at the state and national level.
Before joining DMFI, Joel built his career across the Democratic political infrastructure, including senior roles at the DCCC — where he helped flip nine congressional seats from red to blue in 2018 — the Nevada Democratic Party, Hillary for America, and the Ohio Democratic Party.
Joel holds a degree in Political Science and Economics from Northeastern University. A proud brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi, he has dedicated his career to channeling his commitment to the Jewish community into lasting political impact. He is based in Chicago, Illinois.
