Following President Biden’s address to the nation on October 10th, 2023, Democratic Majority for Israel President & CEO Mark Mellman released the following statement:
“President Biden shared our pain, channeled our anger, and reflected our grim determination in the strongest pro-Israel speech ever given by an American President. President Biden gave Israel America’s full backing as it responds to the unimaginable invasion by Hamas. In the face of this unspeakable tragedy, with more than 1,200 Israelis slaughtered, over a hundred kidnapped, and millions sheltering from missile attacks, President Biden backed Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism and forcefully called out Hamas’ actions as ‘unadulterated evil.’
“As the world bears witness to the atrocities perpetrated by Hamas, we are deeply appreciative of President Biden’s leadership and the moral clarity of his administration. In this time of shared anguish, his words offer comfort and strength.”
