Tonight was a powerful reminder of the Democratic Party’s support for Israel and for freeing the hostages kidnapped by Hamas.
As the parents of Hersh Goldberg-Polin took the stage, DNC attendees filled the United Center with chants of “Bring them home.” Jon Polin and Rachel Goldberg-Polin shared their pain, grief, hope, and appreciation for Vice President Harris’ efforts to pressure Hamas to release their son.
Rather than offering divisive rhetoric, President Biden and Vice President Harris are engaged in the hard work required to bring the hostages home.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s tireless efforts have put a ceasefire and hostage release agreement on the table. Israel has accepted that agreement. Hamas, which broke the last two ceasefires, has so far refused the latest deal, while continuing to brutalize and even murder the hostages they hold.
People of good conscience should be joining the President and Vice President in demanding Hamas accept the agreement and immediately free the hostages.
