Washington, D.C. (December 1, 2021) — Democratic Majority for Israel’s CEO and President Mark Mellman issued the following statement today:
“It’s possible to disagree strongly with others without resorting to dangerous rhetoric that inspires death threats or even actual violence. We disagree strongly with Congresswoman Omar on issues important to us — but there is no place for Representative Lauren Boebert’s hateful attacks on Representative Omar in Congress or in civilized society. Boebert’s remarks are beyond the pale and we condemn them in the strongest terms.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first time we’ve been compelled to point out the overt anti-Muslim bigotry directed at Congresswoman Omar by Republicans.
“Republican leaders must condemn this behavior, hold Congresswoman Boebert responsible, and put an end to this dangerous behavior.”
