Today, Democratic Majority for Israel issued the following statement:
“We are devastated to learn of the passing of Mark Mellman, our founding President and CEO — a brilliant political strategist whose intellect and acumen shaped DMFI from the beginning.
“Mark was not only a deep policy mind but a passionate advocate for American democracy, its institutions, the rule of law, as well as for the security and prosperity of Israel. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and colleague. His leadership and courage in difficult political moments helped turn DMFI into a formidable organization that continues to serve as an essential voice in Washington and in the pro-Israel community across the country.
“Mark possessed a profound understanding for American and Jewish history. His unwavering commitment to Democratic values will continue to guide and inspire us. All of us at DMFI miss him dearly. We send our heartfelt condolences to Mark’s wife, Mindy, their entire family, and those who worked so closely with him. May his memory always be a blessing.”
