Today, Democratic Majority for Israel President & CEO Brian Romick released the following statement:
“We’re pleased that the DNC Resolutions Committee rejected a set of divisive, anti-Israel resolutions. These measures would be a gift to Republicans, would further fracture our party, and do nothing to bring Israelis and Palestinians closer to peace. DMFI will continue to stay engaged with the DNC and its Task Force on the Middle East as it relates to these harmful resolutions. The DNC and party advocates need to keep focus where it belongs — on building a united Democratic Party that can win back Congress this November.”
“DMFI has been on the ground at the DNC meetings in New Orleans this week to ensure these harmful resolutions did not advance. What we heard from DNC members during that time was consistent: Democrats need to be united and focused on winning back the House and Senate, not relitigating intra-party battles that shrink our coalition and hand ammunition to our opponents.
“As we head into what may be the most consequential midterm election in a generation, DMFI will keep working alongside pro-Israel Democrats at every level to make sure that resolve carries through November.”
