Following a deadly terrorist attack by a Palestinian gunman today in Jerusalem, Democratic Majority for Israel, President and CEO Mark Mellman today released the following statement:

“Today, on the 78th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we are again reminded how much work needs to be done to combat antisemitic hatred. Our hearts break for the at least 7 innocent worshippers killed, and the many others wounded, in a cowardly terrorist attack on a Jerusalem synagogue during Shabbat.

“We’re also horrified to see some Palestinians celebrating with fireworks and by passing out candy to passing cars — even as the wounded are being treated for their injuries.

“Our thoughts are with the families of those killed in this despicable attack. May the memories of all those lost be a blessing.”
