“Watching the events at the Capitol building unfold yesterday left us disgusted, angry and heartbroken.
“Donald Trump — who incited these extremists over four years, coddled rather than condemned these far-right hatemongers, and trafficked in false conspiracy theories — is directly responsible for this shameful assault on America’s Capitol. So are his Republican enablers in Congress.
“For the good of our country, President Trump must be removed from office, whether through impeachment or the processes laid down by the 25th amendment.
“We are grateful that the Congress was not bowed or broken, despite the terrorists’ attempt, and properly certified the Electoral College victories of Joe Biden as president and Kamala Harris as vice president after a dark day in our nation’s history.”
