DMFI welcomes the bipartisan congressional letter, led by Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA-32), calling on the U.N. to remove Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Palestinian Territories, Francesca Albanese, from her post following the revelation of antisemitic statements attributed to her.
“It’s unconscionable that Ms. Albanese has remained in her role after her antisemitic comments were revealed. What’s more, her refusal to take accountability for these statements underscores that the dangerous conspiracies she promulgated about the Jewish people are indeed part of her worldview,” said DMFI president, Mark Mellman. “By having officials such as Ms. Albanese remain in key roles, the United Nations further undermines its own credibility and its founding principles.”
