“Trump nominee Ed Martin’s public praise for Timothy Hale-Cusanelli — a convicted January 6th felon and an individual whom prosecutors identified as a Neo-Nazi and white supremacist — is deeply troubling. Such actions underscore a profound lack of judgment that raises serious questions about Mr. Martin’s ability to fairly mete out justice. We urge the Senate to reject his nomination for U.S. Attorney for D.C.
“The role of a U.S. Attorney demands unwavering commitment to justice and the protection of all citizens’ rights. Martin’s past statements suggest an inability to separate personal biases from professional duties.
