Democratic Majority for Israel today announced its new organizing effort in New Hampshire in preparation for the first-in-the-nation presidential primary. In the Granite State, DMFI is training organizers, building a network of Democratic pro-Israel volunteers, attending campaign events and asking the presidential candidates questions about the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship.

“With the help of an enthusiastic team on the ground, DMFI is sending a clear message to the Democratic presidential candidates that there’s a strong grassroots, pro-Israel constituency in the Granite State,” said Mark Mellman, President and CEO of Democratic Majority for Israel.

“Democrats have a long and proud tradition of supporting a strong U.S.-Israel relationship because of our shared values and interests. In Israel, everyone is covered by national health insurance, abortion is legal, LGBTQ rights are protected, and unlike the United States under Trump, transgender individuals serve openly throughout the Israeli military and Israel remains committed to the Paris Climate Agreement. Democrats need to stay focused on defeating President Trump. Attempts to divide our party, when we need to be unified most, play right into Donald Trump’s playbook.”

The New Hampshire team will complement DMFI’s long-running Iowa-based operation where organizers and volunteers are communicating the organization’s pro-Israel message to the candidates.
