Trump’s Problematic Personnel

Some people say, “I don’t like Trump, but he’s good on Israel and fighting antisemitism.” But, a number of his choices for essential roles tell a different story. Their views are not just extreme — they are dangerous and disqualifying.

Darren Beattie

Darren Beattie, Trump’s Acting Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, has a key role in “selling” America abroad.  He has promoted antisemitic and white supremacist theories and ideologies, called Israel “colonialist” and used antisemitic slurs.

Michael DiMino

President Trump filled a key national security position at the Defense Department with Michael Dimino, a radical isolationist who opposed the Abraham Accords and is openly hostile to the U.S. alliance with Israel.

Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, tried to prop up former Syrian President Assad, spread allegations based on conspiracy theories and Russian disinformation and advocated for foreign policy that would weaken American influence around the world.

Amer Ghalib

Amer Ghalib, Trump’s choice to serve as United States Ambassador to Kuwait denied the October 7th atrocities and liked a social media comment calling Jews ‘monkeys.’

Pete Hegseth

Trump’s Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, is backed by Charlie Kirk and his Turning Point USA that promotes right-wing extremists, conspiracy theories, racism and antisemitism.

Paul Ingrassia

Paul Ingrassia, Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, repeatedly used antisemitic dog whistles to describe prominent Jewish figures and traffics in antisemitic conspiracy theories.

Joe Kent

Joe Kent, Trump’s nominee for Director of the National Counterterrorism Center joined a podcast hosted by a Nazi sympathizer and disparaged pro-Israel Americans.

Ed Martin

Trump nominated Ed Martin as U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. Martin’s nomination was ultimately rescinded, but the President should have never made such a nomination in the first place. Martin repeatedly praised a Nazi sympathizer convicted for his role in the January 6th insurrection, calling him a ‘great friend’ and ‘an amazing guy’ and he misled Congress under oath about that relationship. He compared President Biden to Adolf Hitler and questioned American Jews’ commitment to their faith if they vote for Democrats.

Kingsley Wilson

Trump promoted Kingsley Wilson to Pentagon press secretary. Wilson’s history of antisemitic and racist social media posts is disqualifying.
