Democratic Majority for Israel is a mission driven organization of Democratic leaders from across the country dedicated to advancing the values of the Democratic Party, important among them its pro-Israel position. We believe that our nation’s relationship with Israel is grounded in shared values and shared interests. We work tirelessly to maintain and strengthen support for the U.S.-Israel alliance by educating elected officials, candidates and the public, while advocating for other progressive policies.
Democratic Majority for Israel has an immediate opening for a Development Associate to bolster our fundraising efforts. We are looking for a development professional whose role will be primarily internal, with responsibility for operations and management processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of success in multi-tasking, be goal and product oriented, and display strong commitment to DMFI’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Support senior development professionals in the creation and execution of a holistic organizational development plan
- Spearhead research on prospective donors and opportunities for DMFI
- Schedule one-on-one meetings with donors and prospects for DMFI senior leadership and development professionals
- Create materials for use in presentations and meetings
- Plan programs and meaningful opportunities to assist in the stewarding and cultivation of donors and prospects
- Manage and update donor information and donations in DMFI’s database
- Drive reporting and donor acknowledgement systems
- Collaborate with DMFI’s separate sister organization, DMFI PAC, and its staff on organizational priorities such as hosting events, fundraisers, outreach, advocacy, research, and donor communication
- Assist with other needs as required
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years work experience in fundraising/sales, politics, or a related field with success in systems and operations
- Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S.-Israel relationship and commitment to DMFI’s mission
- Exceptional people skills and the ability interact with donors and stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extremely organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work as part of a team to implement collaborative projects, and think creatively
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and highly driven and able to work independently, in addition to working with your colleagues to meet goals and objectives
- Adept project management, research, and analysis skills
- Willingness to travel for events and meetings as required
- Competency in Microsoft Office required, competency in EveryAction or NGP VAN preferred
