Summary
Democratic Majority for Israel is a mission driven organization of Democratic leaders from across the country dedicated to advancing the values of the Democratic Party, important among them our pro-Israel position. We believe that our nation’s relationship with Israel is grounded in shared values and shared interests. We work tirelessly to maintain and strengthen support for the U.S.-Israel alliance by educating elected officials, candidates and the public, while advocating for other progressive policies.
Democratic Majority for Israel has an immediate opening for a Development Donor Officer to bolster our fundraising efforts. We are looking for a public-facing development professional who will be primarily responsible for soliciting and stewarding donors. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of success in development/sales and the ability to inspire donors and prospects to support DMFI.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of major donors ($10,000 and above) and prospects
- Create and execute a development plan for key communities across the country
- Identify, cultivate, and solicit new donors to support DMFI
- Initiate one-on-one meetings with donors and prospects in key communities to build relationships and solicit donations
- Works with Development and Communication Teams to create materials for use in presentations and meetings
- Manage and update donor information and donations in DMFI database
- Partner with lay leadership to support their efforts to grow DMFI
- Collaborate with DMFI’s separate sister organization, DMFI PAC, and its staff on organizational priorities such as hosting events, fundraisers, outreach, advocacy, research, and donor communication
- Assist with other needs as required
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years work experience in fundraising/sales, politics or a related field with a successful track record of achieving and exceeding goals
- Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S.-Israel relationship and commitment to DMFI’s mission
- Exceptional people skills and the ability to form close, personal relationships with current and prospective DMFI donors
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extremely organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work as part of a team to implement collaborative projects, and think creatively
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, highly driven and able to work independently, in addition to working with your colleagues to meet goals and objectives
- Project management, research, and analysis skills
- Willingness to travel for events and meetings as required
- Competency in Microsoft Office required, competency in EveryAction or NGP VAN preferred
