Today, Democratic Majority for Israel President & CEO Brian Romick released the following statement:

“The Heritage Foundation president’s continued embrace of Tucker Carlson and its refusal to disavow extremist figures like Nick Fuentes is appalling and part of a dangerous trend coursing through the mainstream Republican Party. By defending someone who offered a friendly platform to one of the nation’s most notorious racists and antisemites, Heritage president Kevin Roberts is normalizing antisemitism and anti-Israel hate.

“This isn’t principled conservatism — it’s isolationism and extremism masquerading as patriotism. The Heritage Foundation has already turned its back on America’s democratic allies, including Israel, with a proposal earlier this year to end U.S. security aid for the Jewish state. It represents a betrayal of America’s long-standing, mutually beneficial commitment to Israel’s security that has been a cornerstone of U.S.-Israel relations for more than 75 years. It’s also a betrayal of a democratic ally that faces existential threats from Iran and its proxies — the same bad actors who shout, ‘Death to America.’

“We need American thought leadership that stands with its allies and against hate. Heritage’s path does neither.”
