Democratic Majority for Israel President and CEO Brian Romick released the following statement today:
“President Trump’s decision to bar the U.S. Embassy from participating in the Tel Aviv Pride parade is disgraceful. It undermines the shared values that bind the enduring relationship between our two nations—namely, the pursuit of equality, inclusion and freedom.
“Tel Aviv’s Pride celebration is the largest in the Middle East—a joyful and affirming gathering where people come together to proudly celebrate their civil rights and the pursuit of living authentically.
“Despite the Trump administration’s attacks on the LGBTQ+ community, tomorrow’s parade will go on. We hope it’s an uplifting and safe celebration for all who attend.
“DMFI will continue to speak out against Trump’s attacks against the LGBTQ+ community and any steps he takes to undermine America’s relationship with our allies at home and around the world.”
